This is a vintage 1960s, metal, enamelware, blue, lotus-blossom, saucepan made in norway by catherineholm and marked as such on the bottom. The color is called teal or danish blue. The pattern features white, lotus petals on a blue background.Let me start right out by saying that this pot unfortunately is missing its lid. The top opening of the pan measures 7 inches in diameter, the height measures just under 3.5 inches and the length including the handle measures 12.5 inches. The handle is a one-piece design made of chrome and is removable.
The lotus blossom was designed by norwegian anne clause and the shape of the pot & handle was designed by greta prytz killeson who possibly was swedish with a last name ending in on. I would say that this saucepan is in pretty-good condition overall. There are no chips to the enameling which is the most important thing, but the rim has a little wear. It is a used pan so the white, interior enamel is slightly discolored and not as shiny as it once was and also it does have minor scratching. The black bottom is not too bad compared to what some look like. This is a useable saucepan, but please use a wooden spoon when stirring. In my research i discovered that a blue saucepan with white-lotus petals seems to be less common. Please be sure before purchasing as this item is not returnable.
This item is made of steel.
