Most beautiful professional antique belgian copper windsor pan. Just refurbished with brand new food grade tin lining. Windsor pans are conical in shape with tapered sides for fast sauce reductions etc.
Very sturdy pan that will last for many more generations to come. The stamp is now very faded but should read hgr verbeelen, antwerpen. Very most likely mauviel made and restamped verbeelen under licence. In 1947, henre verbeelen founded a wholesaler store in table and kitchenware supplies in anterpen, belgium. As the business grew, they went on to become the favored hotel supplier to top hotels such as hilton and inter continental hotel chains. They are still operating very successfully today. These items were his very own tools of his trade and were therefore perhaps more looked after than other non owner chefs might have. You can see the swirls in the tin from hand wiping the molten hot tin. I will be listing all items very soon over many days to come. Stock pots, roasters, saucepans, sautes, etc.
Just re'tinned with thick brand new food grade tin lining and not used since. Small defects, (see directly below) priced accordingly and very fairly. A real stand out quality piece. It comes in an excellent not used since re'tinning condition, but sadly has sustained such very light grazing to the internal rivet heads, exposing faint copper (photo 3) not from use, but from having another pan stacked inside it during transportation. I hate to see pans stacked this way, one inside the other. The external rivet heads can so easily scratch the internal tin lining of the host pan. Apart from this, it comes with just minimal surface scratches and light dings during its its very long culinary years of use.
It has an iron handle that has a tear drop opening at the top to enable you to hang the saucepan on a hook. The handle is firmly riveted to the body of the pan with 3 large copper rivets. The lid is smooth copper and is stepped down and sits inside the pan rim to stop it sliding off during lifting from the hob / moving to the work space, it also has an iron lift handle firmly fixed with two copper rivets. The rim is wavy but i will re' straighten most of it before sending out. Faintly stamped, hgr verbeelen antwerpen to the left of the lifting handle on the pan.Utilize the amazing cooking capabilities of this old pan, it will more than repay you with quality food cooked evenly and thoroughly every time day in day out. This will last you an eternity and what a super addition to any kitchen style. A perfect addition for your copper collection to use as it was intended in your kitchen and then still ready to hand down to the next generations. Internal diameter at top of pan - 7.75 / 18.7cm. Internal diameter at bottom of pan - 6 / 15.2cm. Length of pan including the handle - 15 / 38cm.
Height of pan - 3 / 7.6. Weight - 4.47lbs / 2.03kgs. Also if you would like to reserve an item or discuss paying by installments, please send me a message to discuss. This item is made of copper and cast iron, tin, metal, hammered copper, tin lining, smooth copper.
