Matching set of 5 enamel saucepans from france in "snow on the mountain" pattern, white and blue. The saucepans are all spouted for easy pouring. Marked "luc & cie" (luc & companie, company) with the numbers 20, 18, 16, 14, and 12 on the bottom of each successively. The lettering and numbering is incised into the enameling.
Luc & company was formed in northern france in 1897 and continued production until 1982. The mark on each of these saucepans denotes early 1900's production. A more precise view of the mark and a discussion of luc company is shown on page 89 of the french book, la cafetière de ma grand-mère. Beautiful white with wavy blue lines.Compatible with many different color schemes. Very good condition overall considering past use and age. A few brown spots on bottom. This item is made of glass and tin, porcelain.
