The lid has a very slightly wavy edge from years of use and cleaning, it still fits beautifully. This is a slightly younger version of a tried and tested design. It has'wolf's teeth' -'dents de loup' or castellated joints.
We estimate it is from the middle of the 19th century. This pan is in remarkable condition. There are some scratches on the base and sides, there is a small minor dents. This is a testament to the amount of quality work this pan has done. It is very slightly out of the round, the lid is a good snug fit.
