Vintage saucepan by cousances-le creuset in their discontinued vibrant hunter green. Overall it is in very good used condition.
Glossy, clean & bright the #18 under lid is clean with a tight seal. The beige interior enamel side walls are smooth and glossy. The interior enamel bottom shows some light staining and there is a single enamel chip, 3/16 in diameter. The outside enamel coloring is in excellent condition with no chips. Some slight shelf wear on the enameled bottom outer edge. Vintage wooden pot handle is in similar very good condition, but has a 1/2 burn spot on the under side. This little vintage saucepan is perfect for making and pouring sauces. I love the vintage design of the tapered pour spout.
Pot easily holds 40 ounces to bottom of pour spout. Approximate size is 7" diameter, 13.5" end to end, and 2.75 inside height to edge of spout. The cousances foundry in northeastern france began making cast iron pots in 1553; it was acquired by le creuset in 1957.Cookware under the cousances brand continued to be manufactured by le creuset into the 1980's. Weighs about 8 pounds without packing.
Le creuset enameled cast-iron saucier pan. With its precise and responsive temperature control properties, cast iron holds the steady low-to-medium heat required for many delicate sauces. The pan's smoothly curved interior also makes stirring and cleaning easier than ever, with no tight corners to trap ingredients. This item is made of iron.
