This is a truly gorgeous antique french copper bouilloire and pretty rare to find nowadays. It was a kettle that would be hung from the ancient fireplace to boil water. It has a fabulous pear or bulb organic shape. It has obviously seen some wear but in my opinion is just superb. I have not polished it, so you could polish it up much more if you wished. It has rivetted brackets on the sides from which hang the original iron chains which would have suspended it above the fireplace. Bashed and beautiful would be my description of this gorgeous piece. It once had a pattern etched around the middle at the bulbous part but this has faded with time and now can just be seen. It weighs a mighty 2.5kgs and is 25cms or 13 tall.
The opening at the top is 11cms or 4. The base measurement is 16cms or 6. Hanging from the chains the drop is 57cms or 22. Fabulous rare piece of ancient french copper. Merci pour votre visite et à bientôt.
