Antique french 19th century copper fish kettle. An amazing piece of craftsmanship dating from the late 1800s. Beautifully hand made and strong enough to last many lifetimes. Both sides feature an intricate hand hammered heraldic design of fleurs de lys and griffins. Made in the traditional way with rolled edges, dovetail joints and a wrought iron folding handle that has been painted black at some ponit in the past.The copper hinges are firmly riveted to the pan with copper rivets. These kettles look wonderful planted with flowers. Total length 16 1/2 inch, height without handle 5 inch, width 5 inch.
(total length 42cm, height without handle 12cm, width 12cm). Lovely antique condition, the copper is bright and shiny with presence of verdigris. Darkening and heavy patina to the tin lining.
